Farmers have a fortnight left to register use of PPPs

Shouler & Son is reminding farmers that they only have until 22 June to register details of their use of Plant Protection Products (PPPs) and companion substances (known as ‘adjuvants’) to ensure compliance with Defra and Health & Safety Executive (HSE) regulations.

The requirement to supply the information - which will feed in to Defra’s national database (excepting Northern Ireland) - to the 22 June deadline was just announced last month (May).

The information required is comprehensive in covering details of current and backdated application, usage and storage of PPPs by any farming business - including in the amenity & forestry sectors - and associated third parties.

Defra requires the details in a specific format and its official form, together with more information, is available to download here gov.uk/government/publications/professional-plant-protection-products-ppps-register-as-a-user.
