A re-grouping of the residential services of Shouler & Son sees its sales & lettings agency teams primed to deal with new instructions now in order to capitalise on new year market moves.

Richard Cleaver, the firm’s head of residential, has made a number of changes to the estate agency business strategy since his appointment earlier this year.

These changes - which include an initiative to educate, equip and enable its vendors to be ‘market-ready movers’ - plus a recent internal reorganisation of key residential personnel - put Shouler & Son in the best position to capitalise on what will be, by the estate agent’s own admission, a ‘very challenging’ new year housing market.

With over 25 years’ experience in estate agency in the East & West Midlands and London & its Home Counties, Richard Cleaver has steered property transactions through tough markets before.

He believes that vendors’ selection of the right agent at the outset is one of the most important factors.

Richard Cleaver was speaking as Shouler & Son issued its annual seasonal message advising local homeowners looking to move before next spring to gain best advantage and appoint an estate agent ahead of the Christmas closedown.

He said, “As a ‘veteran’ of a number of economic cycles, I know that the dynamic and quality of the relationship between vendor and agent is of utmost importance in a tough market.

“On the ground local market knowledge - even down to micro-neighbourhood levels - and a first class service offer always prove their worth too.

“These attributes, plus a pedigree that has weathered the highs and lows of the property market over many, many decades sees Shouler & Son well placed to unlock sales in the new year.”
