A community interest company (CIC) is welcoming members to its new base in Melton this month (January) following a relocation move in which local agent, Shouler & Son acted for the landlord of the new town centre premises.

Pepper’s - A Safe Place, a CIC providing a drop-in centre and a safe and welcoming space for adults, is now at 53 King Street following its move from short-term rented space at Toy Soldiers Band Room on Wilton Road.

Shouler & Son acted under the instruction of the landlord in letting the premises at 53 King Street to Pepper’s following the unit’s end of lease vacation by the previous pet shop tenant.

Pepper’s- A Safe Place has taken a three year commercial lease on the unit at 53 King Street and the deal was concluded at the end of December (2021).

The CIC had been seeking larger, more permanent premises in Melton for a number of months following an influx of new members joining its drop-in sessions which provide a warm and welcoming space for adults to look after their mental health, socialise and take a break.

Speaking about the move to the new town centre premises, Pippa Gorman, Development Manager, Pepper’s - A Safe Place, said, “We needed to find a new home where we could increase our opening hours to accommodate more new members.

“With the help of Shouler & Son, we were able to secure the right premises which, in such a prominent location, are perfect for our sessions in allowing us to make the space our own.

“We are looking forward to welcoming new members to our drop-in sessions at 53 King Street hosted, currently, every Wednesday afternoon from two o’clock until four o’clock.”

Anyone interested in attending the Wednesday sessions in Melton Mowbray is welcome to just turn up or contact Pepper’s by email info@peppersrutland.co.uk.
