Shouler & Son has confirmed the recent letting of four retail units at Bowley Court, Melton with Number 8 being let to one of the town’s long established and well respected local greengrocer.

Michelle’s Veg Patch is now open for business at 8 Bowley Court having taken a three year lease on the 280 sq ft retail unit in relocating from premises on King Street where it had been trading for six years.

The traditional greengrocer business was established in 2012 by Michelle Greaves who owns and runs the business with the help of an assistant.

Michelle’s Veg Patch has a loyal customer base and a solid reputation for selling quality local seasonal fruit and vegetables as well as fresh, imported produce.

The coming weeks will see fresh holly and mistletoe added to Michelle’s range of festive produce for sale.

In addition to 8 Bowley Court, the commercial agency has secured occupiers for new leases on Units 1 & 5, with Unit 4 lined up for temporary use by local business organisation Melton BID for the festive season.

The announcement of the lettings at Bowley Court by Shouler & Son comes at the end of a year in which its commercial property agents have seen the continuation of what they describe as ‘shift’ in the retail offer of Melton town centre’s profile since 2020.

Edward Danby, Commercial Consultant, Shouler & Son, explains, “In Melton, as in other market towns, we are witnessing new, independent traders set up shop in local centres.

“Michelle’s Veg Patch joins a range of independent occupiers at Bowley Court offering the types of goods and personal services that are just not feasible to offer commercially online.”
