Shouler & Son is supporting the annual Melton Christmas Tree Festival again this year.

Here is a message from the festival’s organisers……

Don't miss the trees!

It’s not long now before St Mary's Church, Melton Mowbray will, once more, be filled with Christmas trees of all shapes, designs and colours as our spectacular Christmas Tree Festival gets underway.

Now in its twentieth year, it takes place from Friday December 2nd until Tuesday December 6th.

The Christmas Tree Festival opens with our Preview Evening in the Church on Thursday 1st December at 7.30pm.

Tickets for this preview event are £5 each and include cheese & wine, mince piece and Christmas cake.

Tickets will be available on the door on the night, but advance tickets for this event only can be purchased from Phil or Karen Balding, email: philloveskaren@yahoo.co.uk or call 07950 342246/07419 292682, or from The Parish Office, Mary’s Place, 8 Burton Street, Melton Mowbray (from 10am until 12 noon weekdays only).

And don’t miss the chance to celebrate and sing carols at two special  early evening church services during the Christmas Tree Festival.

First, there is the Carols Amongst the Trees Service on Saturday December 3rd starting at 5pm.

Then, on Sunday 04th December, there is the Carols of Praise Service from 6pm where the popular Hathern Band will lead the carols at 6.30pm.

The band will continue to play for a short time after this service.

The main festival from Friday December 02nd until Tuesday December 06th opens each day at 10am.

Daily entrance to the main festival is £2.50. Accompanied children enter for FREE.

There are no advance day ticket sales for entrance where payment is by cash only at the door.

Please remember to bring money to cover for the £2.50 entry fee, plus enough for any refreshments you might like to purchase, as we will not have alternative payment methods available.

The whole community takes part in this popular tradition now, with trees provided by large and small businesses, charities and youth organisations.

Last year, visitors came from all over the country - and some from other countries too - to see the fantastic range of creative ideas for dressing a Christmas Tree.

We expect upwards of 20,000 fee paying visitors to the festival who are set to be charmed by the many trees twinkling throughout St Mary’s this Christmas.

The Christmas Tree Festival Committee would like to thank this year's sponsors for their generosity and support. They are: Pearces the Jewellers; Samworth Brothers; Stockyard at Melton Mowbray
Livestock Market; Melton Building Society; Instep of Melton; Shouler & Son; NFU Melton and Osprey Property. Many thanks also to Morrisons, The Regal Cinema and Gates Garden Centre for their generous donations.
